{ Smiling with Christine of My Style Pill } { Cheese with Katy of SugarLaws and Taylor of Shut Up... }
I have only been at this blogging thing for around 8 months now, and I have mostly liked everything I have seen. In general, it is a pretty collaborative community – and there are nice people, but there are also some not-so-nice people. Because of those sometimes-mean people, I have held back a bit on what I put out there….
You can imagine how nervous I was to attend the Independent Fashion Blogger’s Conference at Milk Studios! 200+ bloggers, one big room and more style & hair spray than at Fashion Week. With all the nerves I had, I was pleasantly surprised at what a great experience it was (read: I had to put yourself out there too; just walk up and talk to people!). I met some lovely ladies – Christine from My Style Pill (who’s blog I’ve adored for a while, Kristina of Pretty, Shiny, Sparkly, Taylor of Shut Up I Love That (oldie but bestie), Katy of Sugarlaws and Jessica of Bows & Sequins.
The conference taught me that….well….I know nothing about blogging & have so much work to do! But, I suppose, that is what the point is. I am so glad I went and was able to learn & network.
I encourage everyone to attend next time (in February for NY Fashion Week) – and I hope to meet you there!

Don’t forget! You still have time to enter my giveaway with Arrojo Salon – check out the details here and enter soon. Good luck!

I think NYC Bloggers have an advantage here … you can go to IFB twice a year, every year!
It was great meeting you!

OH hey girl hey – Great IFB post! Love the pics, though I feel now that that skirt made me look sort of squatty. Ugh. Anyway, just wanted to say HOORAY and so glad you came & tadaaaaa this comment is coming from me as ESD
xo
I agree completely about the community being very collaborative and kind, for the most part. There are those people who post mean comments and such, but I think the general rule of thumb I’ve learned is to delete it and just move on.
I’m so jealous you got to go to the IFB conference! What an amazing experience. I bet you learned a ton! It seems like so much fun and so inspiring.
